Farewell, Delaeno

Today was Delaeno's last day on Ruth's Ridge. With many thanks for your craftsmanship, diligence and commitment, Ruth & I want to wish you all the best. We don't know how you persevered for almost five months of weekdays away from home. And thanks to you, Miki, for your support in letting D be gone from home for the summer and fall. This isn't the end or good-bye.

Wishing you a happy re-entry into day-to-day life at home, and a Happy Advent season.

  1. So after you are all done this, I'm going to ask you if you would recommend it to someone else.

  2. So pleased to see that the walls are up, plastered and sealed. Time for the two of you to curl up by a fireplace and start singing "In the Bleak Midwinter". Perfect timing for completion with Christmas jingling its way here soon. I am happily anticipating the arrival of my nephew, Andrew, who is coming in from Taiwan. He has been living there since 2001 and has a fairly hectic schedule doing filming of documentaries in and around China as well as in Germany this past year. I had contacted him through Facebook to let him know that Gramma was failing and that he needed to come home soon for a visit. I am very pleased he is able to do this. Busy times ahead. Take care. Keep warm and God Bless.

  3. Well a New Year is upon us. 2010! I remember back in school, our teacher telling us that the world would be very different in 2010 and that we would be in our 50's and most likely...grandparents. We "rolled our eyes" and thought...we are NEVER going to be 50! Ha! It was a wonderful Christmas this year as we had my nephew from Taiwan with us and listened to him speaking Mandarin! He had not seen Grandma (my mom) for 7 years and she was very pleased to spend time with him. My oldest daughter Em turned 21 on January 4th and now I truly feel OLD!! We are busy at church with plans for the New Year and have many "guest" ministers for an undetermined period of time. Our Minister, Rev. Bill Millar has had a tragedy in his life. His daughter has suffered a series of strokes (7) and is paralyzed on one side of her body. Her heart is failing and Bill's family sits vigil at St. Boniface as I write this. We all pray for him and his family as this year begins. It makes me want to give thanks for all that we have, family, good health, and friends without which we would be empty. Take care Gord and Ruth. Talk soon.
